NORTH PORT — Area residents and workers are honoring veterans as the nation prepares to recognize Memorial Day on Monday.

Memorial Day is dedicated to soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who were killed in combat or who died while in service to America. North Port Pines took time Friday to thank its members who are veterans of the armed forces.
