SARASOTA — For old-timers watching a portion of the Sarasota County commissioners’ budget workshop Friday, they may have felt a sense of déjà vu, at least on one item.
Listed on the agenda for discussion, again, was the topic of surplus lands. The topic has been a sore spot for commissioners over the past year as they grapple with solutions to shore up the county’s general fund in anticipation of revenue shortfalls on the horizon.
