Englewood artist Carroll Swayze is busy painting new art work inspired by her recent stay at the Hermitage Artist Retreat on Manasota Key. Calling the exhibit “Postcards from the Beach,” the free exhibit and reception of her work is scheduled 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Hermitage Artist Retreat, 6660 Manasota Key Road.

ENGLEWOOD — A stay at the historic Hermitage House Artist Retreat on Manasota Key allows painters, writers, playwrights, musicians and other artists the opportunity to recharge creatively.

The retreat has attracted world-class artists for six weeks in any increment of time they want. On average, 60 artists annually stay at the retreat.
