PUNTA GORDA — Parents like Jennifer Deke took their children to the Alligator Creek Preserve on Wednesday to enjoy the great outdoors.

They joined the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center’s Young Children in Nature program. The program, which is for children ages 2 to 5, combines early childhood development activities with hands-on nature lessons and outdoor activities once a month.
