SARASOTA COUNTY — North Port Police Officer Ricky Urbina agreed to turn himself in to police Thursday afternoon. He walked his dog, then went to his back lanai and shot and killed himself, authorities say.

Urbina, 44, was one of two longtime North Port police officers set to be arrested Thursday on charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment, stemming from an incident with a female victim at a March 2 party.
