ENGLEWOOD — South Oxford Drive isn’t always the quiet residential street it should be, according to some residents.

South Oxford, from East Dearborn Street to State Road 776, is posted as having a 30-mph speed limit on both sides of the Sarasota-Charlotte county line. That 1.5-mile stretch of Oxford Drive runs parallel to Pine Street, and is unimpeded with a traffic signal, like the one at Pine Street and Medical Boulevard, or any other traffic-slowing device.
