Habitat for Humanity helped by Eagle Scout

Peter Cornetet, 16, worked on four can cottages used for recycling through Habitat for Humanity as part of his Eagle Scout project. Proceeds from recycled cans go to help build new homes for low-income families who qualify through the Habitat program.

SOUTH COUNTY — Peter Cornetet knows the proceeds from each recycled soda can buy more nails for volunteers to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.

That’s why the longtime Boy Scout chose to create more can cottages used to collect recyclables for his Eagle Scout project.
