Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s Board of Directors approved $3.98 million in grants at its April meeting. The grant awards included over $100,000 in Community Grants to area nonprofits and $3.8 million in grants recommended by donors who have established charitable funds at the foundation.
As part of its competitive grants program, Gulf Coast awarded $109,340 in Community Grants of $10,000 or less to 36 area organizations, including North Port High School, All Faiths Food Bank, Cat Depot, Goodwill Kids’ Needs-Greater Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society and the Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County. These grants come from several endowed charitable funds at the foundation that are unrestricted in their purpose or focused on particular fields of interest within the region.
