It was a pleasant surprise last Sunday to find our children had honored Betty and me on our 60th wedding anniversary with a full page of pictures. It reminds me that as interesting as life has been, each year proves more interesting than the last.
On Easter 60 years ago, the minister was not too happy with us for insisting on such a busy day for our marriage. Betty and I thought it made great sense. We would never forget the date, we were married on Easter. While Christmas always falls on Dec. 25, it did not occur to us that Easter had a tendency to roam around the calendar in the spring. Right now, I’m not sure of the day of the month in 1954 that we promised to stick together till death do us part, but it was Easter.
