The new school year is just around the corner.
From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, the class of 2018 will be filling in 355 seats at Lemon Bay High School’s auditorium for Freshman Orientation. The morning starts off with the opening assembly and then the students are divided into 34 groups among the 50 Manta Mentors, seniors that are dedicated to helping these freshman. These Manta Mentors guide the new students through the high school, making stops at the cafeteria so the cafeteria manager can explain how lunch goes. Manta Mentors tell the upcoming freshmen how to be involved and what Lemon Bay really is about.
