Mario’s Angels, a three-girl, under-8-years-old team that plays most of its games with the North Port Youth Soccer Association, won the recent Challenge Sports 3v3 national championship tournament at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World Resort in Kissimmee, Fla.

This version of soccer is played on a smaller field and with only three players from each team on the field at one time, according to team mother Melissa Jara of Englewood.
