Carol A. Foster, 70, of Englewood, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born April 4, 1943, in Walton, N.Y., to Telford and Beulah (nee VanLoan) Chambers.

Carol had been a resident of Englewood since 1981, moving from upstate New York. She worked as a hairdresser at the Gasparilla Inn on Boca Grande, Fla., but most of her working career was at Peninsula and Englewood banks as a teller. Carol also worked at Beall’s in Englewood. She was a bowling enthusiast and loved to travel. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother for her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Carl L. Foster of Englewood; five daughters, Christine MacDonald of Placida, Fla., Caryn Foster of Cooperstown, N.Y., Cathryn Weaver of Englewood, Carla Foster of Englewood, and Caralisa (Ceita) Zarifis of Rotonda West, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory, 3070 S. McCall Road, Englewood, with Pastor Garry Clark of Fellowship Church officiating.
