Joseph Martin “Joe” Tvaroch Jr., 73, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.
He was born March 31, 1940, in Warren, Ohio, the firstborn of nine children of Slovak parents, Joseph Martin Tvaroch and Ann Lesko Tvaroch.
Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957, proudly serving as a paratrooper in the 18th Airborne Corps. He enjoyed a variety of careers, from his first job at U.S. Gypsum in Warren, to his final over 15 years as a rack and wholesale distributor for the Englewood Sun in Englewood, Fla. Joe was a member of the Assemblies of God, and loved leading song services. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, movies and gospel music.
He is survived by his brothers, Francis of Warren, Anthony of Southington, Ohio, Michael of Ashland City, Tenn., John of Rotonda, Fla., and James of Rotonda; sisters, Margaret Ringer of Rotonda, and Theresa Lasher of Rotonda; his children, Mark Anthony of Warren, Joseph III of Marietta, Ga., Joanna Garcia of Port Charlotte, Fla., Christine Butler of Englewood, Robert of Englewood, Jason of North Port, Fla.; as well as his wife of 20 years, Kay (nee Knight); and a large extended family, including his beloved stepdaughters, Karalynn Bacon and Joy Gutierrez; his grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Ann; and his daughter, Theresa Diane.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at McKee Funeral Home, 14538 Tamiami Trail, North Port. Private burial will be at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla. For online condolences, please visit www.mckeenorthport.com.
