Anne Merry, 70, of Don Pedro Island, Fla., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.
She grew up in Eustis, Fla., with her parents, William and Dorothy (nee Southerland) Calvin, and moved to Englewood, Fla., in 1967. Anne and her husband opened Merry Jewelers on Dearborn Street. For the past 33 years, Anne lived and worked on Don Pedro Island, and will be remembered not only for the “Anne Merry Bridge,” but for all of the islanders she helped find their way to making the island their home.
Anne loved her orchids and the garden, but every summer she set sail to the Bahamas and the Caribbean islands. She was truly an island woman.
Anne will be greatly missed by her husband, Craig Noden of Don Pedro Island; her children, Julie Merry of Don Pedro Island, and James Merry of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Justin Merry of Hamilton, Ala.; sister, Susan Russell of High Springs, Fla.; and two brothers, William Calvin of Charlotte, N.C., and James Calvin of Eustis.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the Merry-Noden residence on Don Pedro Island. You may share a memory at www.englewoodfh.com.
Arrangements are by Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory.
