Starr Leonard Shaw

Starr Leonard Shaw, 88, of Jacksonville, Fla., Rotonda West, Fla., and Waterloo, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.

He was born July 7, 1925, son of Starr S. Shaw and Marion “Archabault” Shaw.

Starr was a veteran of World War II, serving in the supreme HQ allied expeditionary force. He had an auto dealership in Waterloo. After retiring, he owned a pro shop — Stix By Starr. Starr had a great love of golf, and belonged to many social organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughters, Kimberly Carder of Auburn, N.Y., and Janette (Dennis) Berger of Jacksonville; sister, Virginia (Thomas) Moore of Rotonda West; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Starr was preceded in death by his daughter, Starrlet; son, William McDonald; and niece, Sally Moore.

A celebration of his life will be private.
