Helen Louise Pacione, 87, died peacefully Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.
She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Oak Park, Ill., to Adolph and Helen Jacobson.
Helen married Richard in 1946, and raised her three sons. She and Richard divorced in 1971, and then she married Albert in 1979. They spent their remaining years in Englewood, Fla., where they had lived since 1981. Helen worked evenings as a waitress at Pheasant Run Playhouse in St. Charles, Ill., while raising her three children; later she worked as a cafeteria manager for Sears Roebuck.
She was a charter member of the Warrenville, Ill., VFW women’s auxiliary, starting in 1953; her service continued in the VFW chapter in Englewood. Helen was also a member of the Women of the Moose, where she ran the Friday Pinochle game for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, and spent a lot of time preparing meals for friends and family, and was always generous and giving of herself to those she loved and cared for.
Helen is survived by her three children, Thomas (Anita) Churchill, Steven Churchill and John (Susan) Churchill; granddaughter, Christine Churchill; two great-grandchildren; four nephews; and six nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Stewart and James; two sisters, Shirley and Laurel; her first husband, Richard B. Churchill; second husband, Albert J. Pacione; and four nephews.
A service will be held this spring in LaSalle, Ill., for family and friends, when her remains will be united with Albert’s. Condolences can be sent to: email@example.com.
