Carl E. Pearson, of South Gulf Cove, Fla., passed away Friday, April 4, 2014.
He was born March 10, 1924, in Needham, Mass., the son of Albert Pearson and Ruth (nee Elliott) Pearson.
Carl served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He trained as a B-29 Flight Engineer. Mr. Pearson graduated from Tufts University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was employed as an engineer at American Locomotive Works and The General Electric Company in Schenectady, N.Y. Both Carl and his wife, Clara were active in square dancing and as teachers of round dancing. Upon Carl’s retirement they purchased a truck and trailer and spent three years touring the lower USA, settling in Southwest Florida.
He will be greatly missed by his three children, Richard of South Gulf Cove, Linda Pearson of Seattle, Wash., and Stephen of North Highlands, Calif. Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy L. (nee Dugroo) Pearson; and his second wife, Clara (nee Noble) Pearson.
Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
