Birtley “Birt” Locke passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Florida.
He was born in Wakefield, Mass., the son of Eunice and Quentin Locke.
Birt served in the Army and Air Force during the Korean conflict, then married the love of his life, Virginia (nee Russell) Locke. He was a Mason, member of the Chester Lions Club and Englewood Elks. A life-long entrepreneur, Birt started numerous businesses.
He loved antique cars, wooden and sail boats, food and rowdy card games (that he won). Birt’s passion for water left him splitting time between Florida and Maine. His big personality left an impression on all he met, he will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind wife, Ginger; their four children and spouses, daughters, Kim (Vince) Rolletta, Kathy (Tim) Berger, Deb (Ed) Andersson and Butch (Michelle) Locke; sister, Elizabeth (Pat) Ryan; beloved grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
