Walter William Willing

Walter William Willing, 76, of Rotonda West, Fla., passed away Monday, April 14, 2014.

He was born Nov. 29, 1937, in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Walter attended DeVry University in Chicago , Ill., and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1963. He was married to Rita Willing on March 21, 1962, and they just celebrated 52 years of marriage. Walter worked at LaMarche Manufacturing in Des Plaines, Ill., for 35 years, before retiring in 1996. For the last 10 years, he volunteered his time and “Mr. Fix it” skills at the Suncoast Humane Society in Englewood, Fla. He loved to travel, and had been on more than 50 cruises with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Walter E. (Diana) Willing and Amy J. (Michael) Madson; grandchildren, Brandon (Mindy) Willing and Kira Willing; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Aria and William.

A Celebration of Life event will be held in his honor this July in Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Drive, Englewood, FL 34224, or via www.humane.org.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
