David W. “Dave” Comello, 60, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, after a long-standing illness.
He was born July 18, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
David, an easygoing man, loved animals and all people. He loved sports of all kinds, played softball, and was an avid supporter of all teams from his hometown of Cincinnati.
Stories of his friendliness abound as people remember David. Dave spent many a hour where he charmed and amused thousands of patrons with his wit, insight and sincerity. David was everybody’s friend.
He is survived by his siblings, Lee Comello Reid, Carol Comello Tarr, Albert Comello Jr. and Dawn Comello Osborne; his beloved dog, Buddy; nine adopted cats; 13 nieces and nephews; and more than 20 grand-nephews and -nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doug, in 2008; and his parents, Thelma and Albert Comello.
A memorial for David is planned from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Chadwick Park, across from Englewood Beach, between Flounders Restaurant and the White Elephant Restaurant on the Point.
