Marilyn Conklin Johnson, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 22, 2014, at her winter home, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 15, 1923, in Glenn, Mich., where she remained a resident.
Marilyn started her career in real estate in 1961, establishing Conklin Real Estate in 1963, and remaining active until her son, Frank, assumed ownership in 1985. She was involved in the Englewood Garden Club in Englewood, Fla., for over 30 years, becoming an honorary lifetime member. Marilyn was also a talented artist and writer.
She is survived by her four children, Marilee (Tom) Robertson of Holland, Mich., Frank (Kay) Conklin of Glenn, Cathy (Gary) Palmer of Simi Valley, Calif., and Ron (Maggie) Conklin of Saugatuck, Mich.; her two sisters, Janet (Dave) Griffin of South Haven, Mich., and Lois Virgo of Englewood; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Glenn Methodist Church in Glenn. In lieu of flowers, provide donations to Glenn Methodist Church, the Christian Science Church in South Haven, or the Glenn Community Center.
