Richard W. “Rick” Spisak, 83, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Friday, June 27, 2014.

He was born June 18, 1931, in Swissvale, Pa., to Joseph and Mary (nee Sidorik) Spisak.

Mr. Spisak had been a resident of Sarasota County, Fla., for 22 years, coming from Miami, Fla. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Spisak retired in 1986 from Pan American Airlines, as a customer service agent after 23 years. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3885 and a communicant of St. Raphael Catholic Church, both in Englewood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Elizabeth Hackett Spisak of Englewood; two sons, Richard W. Spisak Jr. of Hobe Sound, Fla., and David A. Spisak of Raleigh, N.C.; stepdaughter, Annmarie Smith of Englewood; two stepsons, Jeffrey Hackett of Englewood, and John Hackett of Plant City, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 S. McCall Road, Englewood. Inurnment will follow at 11 a.m. at Gulf Pines Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors to follow. You may share a memory with the family at www.englewoodfh.com.
