Eight people were arrested on the evenings of July 27 and 28 during a focused patrol by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit. The unit spent those evenings locating persons of interest in various cases, as well as completing field interviews on subjects in areas where previous crimes have occurred. One recent field interview with a juvenile in the Deep Creek area led to the closure of several car burglaries in that area. The focused patrol resulted in 15 traffic stops, 23 field interviews and eight arrests.
