Failure to stop leads to 4-car accident
NORTH PORT — A driver was seriously injured after running a red light at the intersection of River Road and U.S. 41 Saturday night, causing a four-vehicle wreck and multiple injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
While traveling north on River Road just before 7:30 p.m., Jennifer Johns, 36, of Port Charlotte, drove her 1996 Mazda through a red light, according to the report. Her vehicle was struck by a 2004 Nissan Titan driven by Dionicio Quevedo, 50, of North Port. Debris from Quevedo’s truck hit a third vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Scion driven by Allyssa Gobbie, 23, of Rotonda West.
