PUNTA GORDA — Investigations continue for the fight between Charlotte and Port Charlotte football players following their game on Oct. 27.
According to Charlotte County Schools’ community liaison Mike Riley, Charlotte assistant coach Justin Midgett was placed on paid administrative leave due to accusations of his involvement in the scuffle. A Punta Gorda Police Department report indicates that Midgett made contact with a Port Charlotte player because he was trying to break up the fight.
