ENGLEWOOD — Charlotte pushed Countryside deep into the fourth quarter Saturday night thanks to Ahmad Johnson’s 27 points, but ultimately fell 78-68 on the final day of the Ryan D. Provencher Holiday Shootout.

The Tarpons (4-4) trailed by as many as 14 but cut the deficit to three points midway through the fourth and only trailed 59-56. But the Cougars (5-1) responded with a 7-1 run thanks to five free throws and never let Charlotte get closer than five the rest of the way.
