PUNTA GORDA — Port Charlotte High School doesn’t have a lot of wrestlers, but it showed Saturday that the ones it does have are not to be overlooked.
New Pirates coach David Winger — who coached in Michigan for nearly 40 years before moving to Florida this summer — brought four wrestlers to the Captain Archer Memorial Tournament. Three of those four, seniors Robert Warner and Nick Dowling, and sophomore Gannon Abernathy, placed sixth out of 16 wrestlers in their weight classes.
