PORT CHARLOTTE — Grady Wells endured six tough innings on the mound and Kelvin Soto highlighted a six-run third with a two-run single as Port Charlotte High won its opening District 6A-11 game of the season, 10-3 over North Fort Myers on Friday.

Wells did not go 1-2-3 in any of his innings, but got the big outs when he needed them, allowing three runs, seven hits, two walks and two hit batsmen while striking out six in helping the Pirates (3-2, 1-0) to their third straight win.
