DUNEDIN — Alex Cobb’s day may have started with a hiccup, but it ended by silencing Toronto’s lineup.

The right-hander surrendered two hits in the first inning of Friday’s spring training game for Tampa Bay, but was nearly perfect thereafter. His day finished after three-plus shutout innings that saw him give up the pair of hits and a walk. He struck out one and forced seven consecutive grounders.
