Scots break out the bats for first win

PORT CHARLOTTE — The College of Wooster won its first game of the season Wednesday at the Snowbird Baseball Classic, scoring a barrage of runs against Salem State.

The 24-11 win put an end to the first 0-3 start to a season in the 33 years Tim Pettorini, a North Port homeowner, has coached the Flying Scots. It happened after Wooster started doing what it’s done best under the longtime coach: scoring runs.
