FORT MYERS — Big plays on defense helped Charlotte High School to a 2-0 victory against Cypress Lake on Tuesday night.

The Tarpons (5-6) got three double plays in a nondistrict win at Tim Jago Field, the third ending the game with the tying and winning runs on base. It was the second big play by the defense in the inning. The Tarpons caught Cypress Lake’s Austin Saunders off base at second after Austin Dailey’s single that otherwise would have loaded the bases with no outs.
