SARASOTA — Sarasota High School first baseman Mason Dancer broke up a scoreless tie with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Sailors beat North Port 2-0 in a District 7A-10 game Tuesday night.

Bobcats starter Nate Burke blanked the Sailors (10-0, 8-0) through the first four innings, allowing only two runners until walking leadoff man Zach McMullen in the fifth. McMullen advanced on Dancer’s hit, then came home on a single by Cody Brickhouse to give Sarasota an insurance run. Burke picked off Brickhouse from second base and got Tyler Leonard on a ground ball to second to prevent any further damage.
