Tarpon boys, girls defeat Red Knights

PUNTA GORDA — The Charlotte High School boys tennis team took a 6-1 victory over North Fort Myers on Wednesday despite playing without its Nos. 2 and 3 singles players.

Tarpons freshmen Jonathan Walker and Adam Vanderloop teamed for a doubles victory in their first varsity action as Charlotte improved to 7-1. North Fort Myers, which was missing its regular Nos. 3, 4 and 5 singles players, got its lone win at No. 1 doubles against Charlotte freshmen Chris Cavic and Chris Jen, who were also playing their first varsity match.
