New Year’s resolutions are a tradition in our society, yet it is variously reported that 80 to 92 percent of those resolutions fail by February. Among those who make resolutions, about a third promise to lose weight.
“Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S. over the past 20 years,” said Donna Alton, RN, who serves as bariatric, spine and orthopedic program coordinator at Fawcett Memorial Hospital.
