It was not difficult guessing who was having more fun this past Tuesday, Dec. 3, at The Doggy Bag. Clearly, pet owners were enjoying having photos of their precious Fido, FiFi and Prancer — yes, and Prancer was a Yorkie — taken with Santa. As for the canines themselves, most of them looked bewildered, not understanding what was going on.
No matter, the point is, a fun event, along with new memories, were created.
“I think we had about a dozen dogs,” said Heather Moran, owner of The Doggy Bag, located at 670 W. Main St.
The photos were taken by Jennifer Goodlet, of A New Creation Photography, of Lakeland. In addition to being a professional photographer, Goodlet is also a client of The Doggy Bag at its Lakeland location.
While no one brought in a cat or other animal, one family had a picture taken of their dog, Prancer, and with a family member as well.
“We did have one family, they had their daughter also pose,” said Moran. “The little girl also sat on Santa’s lap and told him what she wanted for Christmas.”
Now, while no one brought in animals other than dogs, one cat did have her photo taken with Santa. That was Karma, a kitten who one day several months ago appeared at The Doggy Bag.
“She did OK, although she didn’t know what to make of his beard,” Moran said about Karma. However, Karma did not put the claw to Claus and did not experience any “Claus”-trophobia.
