DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Police say a 20-year-old man shot and killed himself inside a patient’s room at a Florida hospital.

Daytona Beach Police Department officers responded to Halifax Hospital early Sunday after receiving a report of shots fired.

Investigators say Jonathan Rodriguez-Jeff shot a glass door entrance and then confronted a nurse and patient inside a room on the hospital’s second floor.

Police say the suspect asked them, “Do you want to die tonight?”

Rodriguez-Jeff left and went into a second room, confronting another nurse and patient. Shortly thereafter, police say he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.

No patients were hurt. Two nurses suffered minor injuries.
