A Union sharpshooter takes aim at his Confederate opposition Saturday as part of the Battle of Bowlegs Creek Heritage Festival staged this past weekend at the Fort Meade Outdoor Recreation Area. The battle re-enactments on both Saturday and Sunday drew hundreds of spectators. More photo coverage on pages 12 and 13.
As many as 150 Civil War re-enactors are expected to stage the Battle of Bowlegs Creek, which was fought on April 7, 1864 only about two miles south of today's festival location.
