Mr. Alan Wayne “Spank” Gilmore, 59, passed away in Belleview, Fla., on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.

Spank was born Nov. 26, 1954, in Hays, Mo., and has been a longtime resident of Fort Meade for many years.

He was a plumber for more than 40 years, working with Graves Plumbing for nearly 14 years, and he attended the New Beginning Church of God in Fort Meade.

Spank was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Gilmore, stepfather, Harry Crockett, and brother-in-law, Junior Crockett.

He is survived by his children, Todd and Tara; sisters, Peggy Sue Gilmore, Polk City, Fla., and Judy Crockett, Montpelier, Ala.; brothers, Michael Hunt and wife Mary, Belleview, Fla., and Anthony Hunt and wife Heather, Fort Meade; aunts, Carol Forum and husband Donnie, Fort Meade, and Barbara Only, Hays, Mo.

Visitation is 6-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, with funeral services following at 7 p.m. in the Hancock Funeral Home Chapel, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, Fla., with the Rev. Larry Barren tine officiating.

Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, is in charge of arrangements.
