William Daniel Bearrentine

William Daniel Bearrentine, 78, passed away on March 11, 2014, in Lake City V.A. Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 5, 1936, in Bartow, Fla., to J.D. and Betty Bearrentine.

Bill was an Army veteran and a Mason of Azalea Lodge 716 AFM, Valdosta, Ga.

He retired from Roadway Express with 20 years and over 2 million safe-driving miles.

Bill maintained an avid interest in Florida’s Cracker culture and agri-business.

Bill is survived by his companion, Valerie Ott of Mayo, Fla.; sons, Doug Bearrentine of Valdosta, Ga., and Dan Bearrentine of Georgetown, Ga.; daughters, Kate Cothron of Kingsland, Ga., and Debbie Stanley of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; sister, Ann O’Neal of Lorida, Fla.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Monday, March 17, 2014, in the National Cemetery of Jacksonville with Pastor Tim Hamm of Alton Church of God, Mayo, Fla., officiating.

Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
