Donald M. Polk, 79, of Bartow passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Rohr Home in Bartow from heart failure.

A native of Columbus, Georgia he moved to Polk County in 1963 from there.

He worked as a dispatcher and a truck driver and retired from the Commercial Carrier Trucking Co. in Auburndale.

Donald was an avid photographer and fisherman and especially enjoyed spending time at the Kissimmee River State Park. A loving husband, father and grandfather he will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Polk, of Bartow; daughters, Donna Ayers of Winter Haven and Theresa Patterson of Bartow; brother Wayne Polk of Georgia; sister Christine Walker of Kentucky; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at the First Assembly of God in Bartow.
