Ernest "Amos" Tidwell Jr.

Ernest “Amos” Tidwell Jr., 56, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Bartow Regional Medical Center from heart failure.

Amos was a native of Bartow and a lifelong resident of the area.

He was a sales representative in the industrial industry and of the Protestant faith.

Amos loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. A loving husband and father, he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan Tidwell, of Lakeland; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Tidwell of Houston, Texas; sons, Andrew Sutton Tidwell, Coleton Adam Tidwell and Bronson Alan Tidwell all of Lakeland; parents, Ernest and Joyce Tidwell of Bartow; sisters, Brenda Jenkins and husband, Bill, of Ocala and Beverly Abbitt and husband, James, of Babson Park; brother Charles Tidwell of Alturas.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.

The funeral service will follow on Wednesday, April 30 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
