Donald Dean Russell

Mr. Donald Dean Russell, 74, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Russell was born Oct. 2, 1939, in Petoskey, Mich., and moved to Fort Meade from Middleville, Mich., in 2003 after retiring from Hostess Cake Co. and working in the Baking Industry in sales and management for many years.

Mr. Russell was a member St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Fort Meade, though he found great enjoyment and soul fulfillment in hearing God’s Word preached from the First Baptist Church of Fort Meade. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Knights of Columbus and a graduate of Petoskey, Mich., High School, Class of 1958.

Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Genevieve Barker Russell; brothers, Tom Russell and Bud Russell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Jo Russell, Fort Meade, Fla.; son, Scott Michael Russell, Battle Creek, Mich.; daughter, Kimberley Ann Schroeder, Grand Rapids, Mich.; sister, Luwana Camburn, Boyne City, Mich.; grandchildren, Mandy Morton, Tim Russell, and Matthew Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Owen, Tristin, Jocelyn, and Trevin.

A memorial service is 11 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2014, in the Hancock Funeral Home chapel, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade, Fla.

Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, is in charge of arrangements.
