For many years now, former employees of Ben Hill Griffin Inc. have been getting together to reminisce, renew friendships and generally enjoy reliving time spent working in the citrus industry.
Those workers will get one last chance to do just that on Aug. 30 in Bartow.
Organizers of what has been an annual event say this year’s gathering will be the last.
The event will be held at the Bartow Civic Center starting at 11 a.m. Traditionally, guests have been asked to bring a dish to pass, but since this is the final one, a catered lunch will be served, with a Hawaiian theme. Goody bags will also be provided.
“All you need to bring are memories, pictures, and mementos,” said one of the organizers, Katherine Kincaid. “You’ll be in for some surprises and fun, entertainment, games, music and audience participation.”
The event is open to any employee who ever worked for BHG, either in Frostproof, Bartow or elsewhere.
The Bartow Civic Center is on South Floral Ave., and RSVPs are requested so the right amount of food can be ordered. Reservations can be made by calling Joe Kincaid at 533-6394, L. Littleton at 967-4031 or Alan Metz at 299-9521.
