AVON PARK — The Avon Park Holiness Camp Ladies Auxiliary held its annual luncheon and meeting on Thursday, Jan. 25. Each person attending was asked to bring a gift for the Choices Family Resource Center. Dorinda Hendry, director of the Avon Park Choices office presented a program along with three young ladies (and their children) who had been helped through the program. In addition to the gifts, Ann Fisher, president of the Ladies Auxiliary, presented Dorinda Hendry a check for $500, representing the mission project for the year.
The Choices Family Resource Center has offices in Avon Park, Sebring, Lake Placid and Wauchula to assist expectant and new mothers as they seek help with pregnancy and parenting issues. The Avon Park office also has classes for expectant and new fathers.
The Ladies Auxiliary luncheon is a welcome gathering as well as a time for fellowship and local missions awareness for the members of Avon Park Holiness Camp as they arrive for the Annual Camp Meeting, which is being held from Feb. 4-11 this year.
