DELRAY BEACH — Forty-nine members and friends from the Lake Placid Garden Club enjoyed a bus trip to the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens, on Thursday, Feb. 22.
The land was donated by George Morikami in the mid 1970s with the stipulation that the land be used for a garden. The garden opened in 1977. The Japanese Gardens, with its pathways, are known for their specific placement of rocks, boulders and trees to capture a quiet, refective and peaceful mood.
The group learned about the Roji-en, a garden that celebrates both ephemeral beauty and regeneration. The ladies then met at the Cornell Cafe and enmoyed a Bento Box for lunch. Afterwards, they visited the gift shop, museum, movie and strolled the pathways before heading home.
The ladies all had a wonderful day and wish to thank those who arranged the event.
