Highlands Little Theatre will be performing the classic play, ‘Arsenic and Old Lace,’ this summer. Those of you who have seen this play or have heard of it, certainly are familiar with Abby and Martha — the Brewster sisters. The ladies invite you to a very special event on May 11; The Brewster Sisters Wine Tasting.

These sweet elderly ladies are known for the charm and charitable projects. One of their favorites being helping lonely old men find peace. You can taste five different wines, but you may want to skip their famous elderberry wine. We’re just not sure what their secret ingredient is.

Come out and meet the Brewster sisters. There will be light appetizers available and a cash bar. You can enter the Wine Pull Raffle or bid on one of the travel packages offered in the silent auction. Everyone wins something in the Wine Pull. Silent auction items include a trip to the Napa Valley, a trip to Las Vegas, a trip to Broadway and the very special picnic table from the set of Grease.

If the weather cooperates, there will be a sunset celebration on Frank’s Deck outside of Anthony’s Lounge, which overlooks beautiful Lake Jackson.

“We’re honored to have the Brewster sisters visit Highlands Little Theatre before their nephews arrive in June,” said Vanessa Logdon, HLT’s Executive Director. “Everyone is invited to meet these charming ladies known for their good works. However, I wouldn’t drink their wine.”

Tickets for this event are just $10. The event will be held on May 11th from 6:30 p.m.– 9:30 p.m.

Be sure to get your tickets to ‘Arsenic & Old Lace’ which will be on stage June 1 through June 17. Veteran actor Patty Young is the director of this upcoming performance.

To purchase tickets for either event, please visit their website at www.highlandslittletheatre.org or call 863-382-2525.
