There will be plenty of good food, good music and good times, as Senor Jalepeno presents Cinco de Mayo Fest at the Highlands County Fairgrounds on Sunday, May 6. Doors open at noon and there be a wide variety of Mexican food available. There will be vendors, bounce houses for the kids, folkloric dancing and plenty more.

Some of the performers are extremely popular, with Los Terribles del Notre having YouTube videos with more than 7.8 million views.

Senor Jalepeno Mexican restaurant will be closed on May 6.

Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s independence day, which is celebrated on September 16, but it is a day of celebration to recognize the Mexican army’s victory over the French and Napoleon III on May 5, 1862 at the Battle of Puebla under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza.
