SEBRING — Recently, the Sun ‘n Lake Veteran Relief Fund committee presented Avon Park AFJROTC and Sebring AFJROTC checks for $250 each for their participation in the annual Veterans Golf Tournament held at Sun ‘N Lake Golf Club. Both AFJROTC clubs present the colors during the opening ceremonies and tend to the American flag pins on all par-3 holes. This golf tournament is held annually during the Veterans Celebration Week in November honoring all Veterans who have or still service our country.

The proceeds from this golf tournament are available for veterans who need support with household expenses including, but not limited to, mortgage or rent payments, dental bills, medical bills, car payments, insurance for home or car, college tuition, funeral expenses and utility bills. One hundred percent of all proceeds benefit these Veterans because all committee members and staff volunteer their time. This fund also supplies needed pantry items and small appliances to the Veterans Service Office and anyone requiring assistance should contact them.

This is their only fundraiser for the year with the exception of individual and corporate donations made throughout the year.

Because of the generous support of almost 300 golfers, this is one of the largest golf outing fundraisers in Highlands County allowing the fund to assist all veterans who live in Highlands County.

If you would like to support the golf tournament in November and/or send your support to SNL Veterans Relief Fund, 5036 Myrtle Beach Drive, Sebring, Florida 33872.
