Love, loss, swords and the supernatural. Fan favorite authors arrive this week with their next series entry or something brand new. Supernatural thriller writer Dean Koontz brings us the third Jane Hawk novel where the rogue FBI agent finds herself closer to the cabal she has been chasing and closer to where her nightmare began. We stay in the supernatural with Sherrilyn Kenyon and her Deadman’s Cross series. Vine wants to see the world burn but Cameron Jack is determined to stop Vine at any cost.

Both Amanda Quick and Mary Kay Andrews bring us tales of lost loves, heartache and mysterious deaths. Finally, Raymond J. Feist brings us a new epic heroic fantasy series, The Firemane Saga, an electrifying tale of two young men whose choices will determine a world’s destiny.

“The Crooked Staircase (Jane Hawk #3)” by Dean Koontz

Jane Hawk knows she may be living on borrowed time. But as long as she’s breathing, she’ll never cease her one-woman war against the terrifying conspiracy that threatens the freedom, and free will, of millions.

Jane’s ruthless pursuers can’t stop her from drawing a bead on her prey: a cunning man with connections in high places, a twisted soul of unspeakable depths with an army of professional killers on call. Propelled by her righteous fury and implacable insistence on justice, Jane will make her way from southern Southern California to the snow-swept slopes of Lake Tahoe to confront head-on the lethal forces arrayed against her. But nothing can prepare her for the chilling truth that awaits when she descends the crooked staircase to the dark and dreadful place where her long nightmare was born.

“Death Doesn’t Bargain (Deadman’s Cross #2)” by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Demons have broken free of their eternal prison and are bent on mankind’s destruction. The worst of the lot is Vine, determined to claim their lives for taking hers. She will see the world burn…and has the perfect lure to destroy them all. One of their own.

Kalder Dupree has never known a day of mercy. Born to the cruelest of mer-races, he sacrificed himself for his crew and is in Vine’s hands. He expects no mercy or rescue.

Yet Cameron Jack is determined to set Kalder free. As a Hellchaser, it’s her calling, and she cannot allow even a not-so-innocent to be tortured for an act of kindness that spared her damnation.

To defeat evil, it sometimes takes an even worse evil, and Cameron is willing to do whatever she must to make this right. If Vine thought she had her hands full before, she hasn’t seen anything nearly as powerful as Cameron’s resolve.

“The Other Lady Vanishes” by Amanda Quick

After escaping from a private sanitarium, Adelaide Blake arrives in Burning Cove, California, desperate to start over.

In Burning Cove, no one is who they seem. Behind facades of glamour and power hide drug dealers, gangsters, and grifters. Into this make-believe world comes psychic to the stars Madame Zolanda. Adelaide and Jake know better than to fall for her kind of con. But when the medium becomes a victim of her own dire prediction and is killed, they’ll be drawn into a murky world of duplicity and misdirection.

Neither Adelaide or Jake can predict that in the shadowy underground they’ll find connections to the woman Adelaide used to be—and uncover the specter of a killer who’s been real all along.

“The High TIde Club” by Mary Kay Andrews

When ninety-nine-year-old heiress Josephine Bettendorf Warrick summons attorney Brooke Trappnell to her 20,000 acre barrier island home, Brooke is puzzled. Everybody in the South has heard about the eccentric millionaire mistress of Talisa, but Brooke has never actually met her. Josephine’s cryptic note says she wants to discuss an important legal matter, but why enlist Brooke and not the prestigious Atlanta law firm she has used for years?

Josephine spins a tale of old friendships, dark secrets, betrayal, and a long-unsolved murder. She is hiring Brooke for two reasons: first, to protect her island from those who would despoil her land, and second, to help her make amends with the heirs of the women who were her closest friends, the girls of The High Tide Club. Brooke must find Josephine’s friends’ descendants and bringing them together on Talisa for a reunion of women who’ve actually never met. But in doing so, Brooke unleashes the makings of a scandal that could make someone rich beyond their wildest dreams or cause them to be in the crosshairs of a murderer.

“King of Ashes (Book one of the Firemane Saga)” by Raymond E. Feist

The first volume in legendary master and New York Times bestselling author Raymond E. Feist’s epic heroic fantasy series, The Firemane Saga—a tale of two young men whose choices will determine a world’s destiny.

For centuries, the five greatest kingdoms of North and South Tembria, twin continents on the world of Garn, have coexisted in peace. But the balance of power is destroyed when four of the kingdoms violate an ancient covenant and betray the fifth: Ithrace, the Kingdom of Flames, ruled by Steveren Langene, known as “the Firemane” for his brilliant red hair.

An abandoned infant is found hidden and thought to be the missing heir of the slain Steveren. Years later, another orphan of mysterious provenance, a young man named Declan, earns his Masters rank as a weapons smith. Blessed with intelligence and skill, he unlocks the secret to forging King’s Steel, the apex of a weapon maker’s trade known by very few. Soon, the two young men, an unknowing rightful heir to a throne and a brilliantly talented young swordsmith, will discover that their fates, and that of Garn, are entwined. Together, they must discover the secret of who truly threatens their world.
