Sermon series continues at Faith Baptist Church
Pastor Bill Cole will continue in his series Paul’s Message to the USA with his sermon “Christian, We Have a Problem” from Romans 7 during the 10:45 a.m. worship time Sunday at Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid.
Sunday opens with Bible study at 9:30 a.m. and continues with evening worship at 6 o’clock when Pastor Cole will present a special video message from Billy Graham titled “The Cross” as Dr. Graham’s message to America.
Wednesday prayer and Bible Study is at 6 p.m.

Placid Lakes Baptist shared weekly events
The 10:45 worship service Sunday at Placid Lakes Baptist Church will feature Pastor Jeff Taylor’s message “Come Before Winter.” The day’s events will open with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening worship is at 6 p.m.
The church group OASIS (Older Adults Sharing In Service) meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited to join this group of older adults meeting together for snacks, fellowship and fun.
Wednesday’s schedule includes activities for the children and youth at 5:30 p.m., adult choir practice at 5:45, and Bible study, praise and prayer time at 7 o’clock. A nursery is provided for all services

Give-back to benefit Guatemala mission
Wendy’s restaurant in Lake Placid will donate 20 percent of the cost of meals on Saturdays from 5 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Guatemala Mission Team from First Presbyterian Church.
Simply let the cashier know that the meal is to benefit First Presbyterian Church Guatemala Mission Trip “and then enjoy a special meal knowing that you are helping the team out,” said church spokesman Cindy Warrick.

Country Fair planned at Church of God
Community Church of God in Lake Placid will host a Country Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16.
There will be many handcrafted items, including decorations for the home, Christmas original art, gifts, homemade soup and baked goods. Proceeds will help support Christian missions, both locally and in other countries.
“Come, bring a friend, and Christmas shop,” suggests Barbara Huff, leader of the Christian Women’s Committee.
Community Church of God is at 735 South Sun ‘n Lake Blvd., across the road from Lake Country Elementary School.
Thanksgiving lunch set at First Baptist Church
The PrimeTimers of First Baptist Church of Lake Placid will host its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at noon Wednesday Nov. 27. The Heart of Highlands Chorus, Sweet Adelines, will provide entertainment.
The church will provide turkey, dressing, gravy, rolls and beverages. Members are asked to bring a covered dish to share. All senioors, church members, relatives, friends and neighbors are invited. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 863-465-3721 by 4 p.m. Nov. 22.

‘November to Remember’
at Temple Church of God
“November to Remember” will set the theme for Sundays next month at Placid Temple Church of God, located at 51 Lake June Road, Lake Placid.
Sunday, Nov. 3 will be Family and Friends; Freedom will be the theme Sunday, Nov. 10 with a salute to veterans and active duty military; Nov. 17 will feature Faith Sunday; and Fellowship Sunday will be Nov. 24.
Sunday activities open with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Worship is at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday worship is at 7 p.m.
The church is forming a coed softball league for adults. A sign-up sheet is available at the visitor booth in the church lobby. Practices are Saturdays at 10 a.m. at the Lake June Park softball field. Bring your bats and gloves.

Spirit Warriors cycle club

The Spirit Warriors, a new Christian motorcycle group, is forming at Bible Fellowship Church at 3750 Hammock Road, Sebring.
“We are seeking members to join us in spreading the love of Jesus while riding motorcycles with fellow Christians,” said spokesman Terry Ault. “Any type of motorcycle is welcomed.”
